What Is Incentiv (CENT)? The PoW Layer 1 Where You Never Touch Gas Yourself

Written by BTSE

Most blockchains make you buy the network’s own token before you can do anything, just to pay fees. Incentiv is built to remove that step.

So, what is Incentiv? It is a live EVM-compatible proof-of-work Layer 1 with smart accounts and flexible gas payments built in. It is unrelated to similarly named tokens such as Incent (INCNT).

What Is Incentiv? A Proof-of-Work Layer 1 Built Around Smart Accounts

Incentiv runs on proof of work, where miners use computing power to secure the network and add blocks. If you know Bitcoin’s proof-of-work model, the idea will feel familiar.

EVM compatibility means Ethereum apps can run on Incentiv with little change. What sets it apart is that Advanced Account Abstraction is native to the network rather than added later.

Incentiv also plans to evolve into Proof of Useful Work (PoUW), where miners would perform AI computation, and to give AI agents on-chain budgets and permissions. Both remain roadmap goals, not live features.

Early traction figures come from the team itself. In an August 2025 press release, it said more than 1.2 million wallets were created on its testnet.

Incentiv Account Abstraction Explained: Why Gas Fades Into the Background

Here is Incentiv account abstraction explained in plain terms. Gas is the fee a blockchain charges to process your transaction, usually paid in the chain’s own token.

Account abstraction turns wallets into smart contract wallets that follow custom rules, such as recovering access if you lose your keys. On Ethereum, this runs as a separate system beside the main protocol, while Incentiv builds it into the chain.

A key component is the paymaster, which can cover fees on a user’s behalf after checking its own policies. It must lock up funds so the network always gets paid, and third parties absorbing gas costs is an idea mainstream payment companies are also exploring.

A feature called Unified Token lets users pay gas in supported tokens such as USDC, USDT, or WETH. The fee is converted into CENT behind the scenes, and CENT is used by default if you hold it.

That is the real meaning of never touching gas yourself. Gas still exists, but it is either sponsored or paid in a token you already hold, so you never have to manage CENT just to transact.

Gas goes to the network, which is different from exchange costs. Platform charges are covered separately in BTSE’s trading fees and transaction limits.

The Incentiv CENT Token: Fees, Rewards, and a Fixed Supply

Any answer to what Incentiv is has to include its token. The Incentiv CENT token sits at the center of the network’s economy, where stablecoins carry everyday commerce while CENT settles network activity.

CENT also powers a reward engine called Incentiv+, which pays users, dApps, miners, bundlers, and liquidity providers for qualified contribution. It also returns a share of gas paid as cashback to highly active users. Reward rules can change, so payouts are never assured.

Total supply is fixed at 100 billion CENT. Around 9.8 billion CENT, or roughly 9.8% of supply, was circulating as of October 20, 2026. Other market trackers report a similar circulating supply figure.

Incentiv Tokenomics Unlock Schedule: What Unlocks and When

Tokenomics describes how supply is split and when each part unlocks. Every timeline counts from the token generation event (TGE), the token’s launch point.

According to the official Incentiv tokenomics unlock schedule, CENT is split five ways. Community Rewards hold 26%, the Sale allocation holds 22%, the Long Term Growth Fund holds 20%, the Short Term Growth Fund holds 17%, and Team and Advisors hold 15%.

Sale tokens have a six-month cliff, meaning nothing unlocks at first, followed by 12 monthly releases from month 7 to month 18. Team and Advisors tokens have a 12-month cliff, then 24 monthly releases from month 13 to month 36. The Long Term Growth Fund and Community Rewards both release over 60 months.

The Short Term Growth Fund is the only allocation unlocked at TGE, with 20% at launch and the rest over 24 months. Community incentives are front-loaded and taper over time.

TGE appears to line up with CENT’s October 12, 2026 market debut, which would place the final scheduled release around October 2031. The project describes its 26% community pool as an initial subsidy to reward early network participation. Each unlock adds tokens to circulation, which can create selling pressure if demand does not keep pace.

How to Buy CENT Crypto: What to Check First

Before you look into how to buy CENT crypto, confirm you are dealing with Incentiv’s CENT on the Incentiv network. Similarly named tokens exist.

Next, check liquidity. A newly launched token can have thin order books and wide spreads, and supply will grow as unlocks continue.

Most regulated platforms also require a verified account. On BTSE, you can create an account in a few steps and complete identity verification (KYC), which is required for crypto deposits and trading.

As of October 20, 2026, CENT is not listed on BTSE, so check the crypto markets available on BTSE for currently supported assets.

Our guide to managing deposits and withdrawals in your BTSE wallet explains how to move supported assets, and you should always confirm the network is supported before sending funds.

Key Risks for the Incentiv CENT Token

CENT began trading in October 2026, so it has little price history. Much of what is known comes from the project’s own documentation rather than independent reviews.

Scheduled unlocks will steadily increase circulating supply over the next five years. Key ambitions, including Proof of Useful Work and an AI agent economy, still need real adoption to prove themselves.

Like many small-cap tokens, CENT can be highly volatile. Do your own research before acting.

Incentiv CENT Token: The Bottom Line

So, what is Incentiv in one line? It is a proof-of-work Layer 1 with smart accounts and flexible gas built in, so users never have to manage CENT just to transact.

The Incentiv CENT token ties fees and rewards together, but its market and roadmap are still early. The unlock schedule and real usage will tell you more than any headline.
