BTSE Cares Foundation, the charitable arm of leading cryptocurrency exchange BTSE, has successfully concluded its sponsorship of Singapore Football Club (SFC) for a series of key football events and community initiatives in Hong Kong during May 2025.

This partnership highlights BTSE’s commitment to nurturing grassroots football and youth development across the region, blending sport with social impact.

Supporting Youth Development: Football Clinic at Singapore International School Hong Kong

As part of the sponsorship, Singapore Football Club hosted an engaging football clinic for the student football team at the Singapore International School in Hong Kong. The clinic took place at the Wong Chuk Hang Recreation Ground, a well-known venue featuring hard-surface football pitches located at Aberdeen in Hong Kong.

This clinic provided young players with expert coaching, skill-building exercises, and an introduction to SFC’s football philosophy focused on character development and opportunities. The event underscored the club’s dedication to fostering football talent from an early age, offering pathways for students to grow both on and off the pitch.

The clinic also coincided with BTSE’s Bitcoin Pizza Day promotions; BTSE distributed pizza-themed socks, frisbees, and keychains to SISHK students to commemorate one of crypto’s longest-standing holidays.

Competitive Spirit: Participation in the HKFC Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens Tournament

Following the clinic, Singapore Football Club competed with great enthusiasm in the prestigious HKFC Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens tournament held from May 16 to 18 at the Happy Valley Stadium in Hong Kong. This annual invitational event celebrated its 26th anniversary in 2025 and featured elite teams across Men’s Open, Women’s, and Masters categories.

SFC’s participation, made possible through BTSE Cares Foundation’s sponsorship, placed the club alongside renowned international teams such as Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, Leicester City, and West Ham United. The tournament offered SFC players invaluable experience competing at a high level and showcased the club’s rapid growth and ambition on the international stage.

BTSE Cares Foundation’s Commitment to Football and Community

Jeff Mei, COO of BTSE, expressed the foundation’s vision, stating, “At BTSE, we believe in the power of sport to foster community, character, and opportunity. Our ongoing support of Singapore Football Club reflects our dedication to nurturing talent and providing pathways for players of all ages and abilities. Through this partnership, BTSE continues to support grassroots football and youth development, empowering the next generation both on and off the pitch.”

This renewed partnership builds on the success of last year’s collaboration and reinforces BTSE’s role in promoting football as a vehicle for social good, community engagement, and youth empowerment.

Looking Ahead

Singapore Football Club is poised for further growth, with plans to host the inaugural Singapore Soccer 7s tournament at Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore from July 25 to 27, 2025. The club’s expanding footprint and BTSE’s continued support signal a promising future for football development in the region.
