Important-Update_Blue

Dear users,

We would like to inform you of an important update regarding the calculation of futures position margin and its impact on your available balance.

Change Details:

  • Previous Logic: Position margin was calculated using Maintenance Margin.
  • New Logic: Position margin will now be calculated using Initial Margin.

Accordingly, the formula for Available Balance will be adjusted going forward.

Impact on Users:

  • Users with existing open positions may notice a slight decrease in available balance after the change.
  • Going forward, the margin occupied by new positions will be based on the Initial Margin requirement. Leverage of positions will be locked in and not subject to arbitrary changes unless the trader adjusts it.
  • Maintenance margin requirements will still be used to calculate liquidation prices.

Purpose of This Change:

This adjustment is aimed at:

  • Enhancing user trading experience
  • Reducing trading risk
  • Aligning with industry standards adopted by major exchanges

We believe this change will help users manage their positions more effectively and improve overall platform stability.

Effective Date:

This update will take effect at 10:00-12:00 (UTC+8), August 27.
We recommend all users review their positions and adjust their strategies accordingly to avoid any potential liquidation risks.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best regards,
Team BTSE
